A Brief History:
Before
the start of the '89/'90 season an argument began late one night in a
Bar in Val d'Isere as to which ski station had the best Skiers,
Chamonix or Val d'Isere.
It was decided in true "school yard" fashion that the
following March the two stations should meet to settle the disagreement once and for all.
So
on the 3rd Thursday of march 1990 Val d'Isere brought their team to
Chamonix and the first Boss des Bosses was held at the Grands Montets.
The Val team was a Mono short (Yes Monos rode bumps in those days) and the Result was tied 9 all.
The
following week Chamonix set out for the away Match and won the day 14-5
at the HOP course in Val, Of course this didn't settle the argument for once or all.
Boss des Bosses 2007
The Boss des Bosses 2007 was yet again an incredible day on the Grand Montets.
Despite earlier weather forecasts the day ended up being the sunniest day of the week with plenty of soft snow for fluffy bumps.
Sadly Val Thorens were unable to field a team this year which left us down to Five teams. However this did give us the opportunity to race everybody against everybody and thus end up with the fairest result.
Chamonix was lucky enough to have the Plakes (Glen and Kimberly) on their team again this year but that was not enough to hold the formidable Zermatt team in check.
Chamonix did manage second place but both Val d'Isere and Meribel were not far behind in joint third place.
The final results from the day were
Zermatt 39
Chamonix 29
Val d'Isrere 24
Meribel 24
Courchevel 14
